ESMT European School of Management and Technology and Tagesspiegel are awarding the Tagesspiegel Entrepreneur Scholarship in the amount of 40,000 EUR for the ESMT Executive MBA (EMBA) program. The partial scholarship allows an entrepreneur, who has just founded a start-up or who has a viable business plan, to enhance his or her general management and leadership skills. The application deadline for the scholarship is August 15, 2014. The EMBA program begins on October 13, 2014 and is held in English.

“Berlin is one of the top locations for entrepreneurship in the fields of technology, digitization, and creative industries. As the foremost newspaper for opinion leaders, it is important for us to support future business decision makers in Berlin and facilitate their success in founding new businesses,” explains Florian Kranefuß, Managing Director of Tagesspiegel. “The start-up scene stands for innovation and digitization. These will continue to be important areas in the future, ones from which we receive substantial input as a publishing company.”

“From an Executive MBA, entrepreneurs gain a thorough grounding in the processes which are likely to make their business idea a successful venture,” says Zoltán Antal-Mokos, Dean of Degree Programs at ESMT. “With faculty input on business organization and leadership challenges, as well as peer feedback on each new idea, the entrepreneur receives an entirely new source of information and motivation outside of his or her existing peer network.”

Applicants for the scholarship must meet the general admission requirements of ESMT and additionally submit a letter of motivation, explaining how the program will promote the development of his or her company.

The Executive MBA program lasts 18 months and costs 57,500 EUR overall. Focus areas of the program are: innovation and technology management, international management, business integrity management and responsible leadership.
