CISCEM 2018 - What can Electron Microscopy do today?

Dr. Carola Jung Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
INM - Leibniz-Institut für Neue Materialien gGmbH

How to visualize proteins in cells? How to investigate catalytic processes and dynamic behavior of nanomaterials at around 300,000x magnification? Some 100 experts from all over the world will address these questions from 10 to 12 October at CISCEM 2018.

For the fourth time, INM organizes the International Conference on In-situ and Correlative Electron Microscopy. It takes place in the Hermann Neuberger sports school in Saarbrücken, adjacent to the university campus.

It is always about understanding a particular process under native or realistic conditions. The so-called in-situ methods conduct measurements in gaseous environment, at high temperatures or in liquids.

In addition, biologists, material scientists, chemists and physicists also pay attention to improving the in-situ electron microscopy methods. For example, by combining electron microscopy with fluorescence microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy, or by including advanced data acquisition and processing algorithms.

CISCEM 2016 will take place from October 10th to 12th.

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
