International business schools award "Industrial Excellence Award Europe 2017"

    Berlin / Vallendar, October 9, 2017. During the Industrial Excellence Conference 2017, INSEAD and WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management recognized INFINEON Operations with the prestigious “Industrial Excellence Award Europe 2017”. Professor Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier, Chaired Professor of Production Management at WHU as well as founder and coordinator of the renowned industry competition, delivered the laudation.

    INSEAD and WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management awarded INFINEON Operations with the prestigious “Industrial Excellence Award Europe” on October 4 in Berlin during the Industrial Excellence Conference 2017. Professor Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier, Chaired Professor of Production Management at WHU as well as founder and coordinator of the renowned industry competition, praised in his laudation the company’s integrated demand and supply matching within a global virtual manufacturing network, the system know-how and customer application understanding by frontline employees, and the company’s smart factory approach that contributes to a considerable year-on-year productivity improvement target. “In truly excellent companies, the management team supports employees and actively engages them in strategy formation and execution. Only this way is job satisfaction lastly improved which brings about the effect that almost every employee contributes to continuous improvement performance through own ideas and project initiation,” states Huchzermeier.

    Jochen Hanebeck, member of the board of INFINEON, accepted the award in person. National champions, who also qualified as finalists for the European award were Sonceboz (CH), Daimler (DE), Mahou San Miguel (ES), Groupe Point Vision (FR), Prysmian Group (IT) and Ford Otosan (TR).

    Since 1995, the Industrial Excellence Award competition benchmarks Management Quality for European competitiveness in the industrial and service sectors. The competition focuses on strategy deployment, that is, how organizations align distributed activities and knowledge to achieve common strategic goals. The competition takes place in seven Western European countries and Turkey. Besides WHU, 9 leading business schools act as academic partners, among others Bocconi, Cambridge Judge, HEC Paris, IESE, IMD, Erasmus and Koç.
