Florian Westphal, Geschäftsführer von Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. (MSF) beendete seine Rede im Rahmen der World Health Summit 2014 Sonderveranstaltung „Ebola: A Wake-up Call for Global Health“ mit einem Zitat der liberianischen Präsidentin Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf: „The time for talking and theorizing is over.“
'Theorizing' wurde in unserer Pressemitteilung vom 20. Oktober 2014 fälschlich als 'überlegen' übersetzt. „Das hört sich so an, als müssten die Akteure nicht mehr darüber nachdenken, was zu tun ist. Das ist natürlich nicht der Fall,“ so Florian Westphal.
Die korrekte Übersetzung des Zitates der liberianischen Präsidentin Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf lautet: „Die Zeit des Redens und der theoretischen Debatten ist vorüber.“
Der sechste World Health Summit findet vom 19. – 22. Oktober 2014 im Auswärtigen Amt in Berlin statt.
