About the Conference - Aim & Scope
Microwave accelerated synthesis is a rapidly expanding field whose time has come since new devices have been developed: a fascinating method that will have a strong impact on synthetic chemistry over the next years.
Although there have been major advancements over the last decades in the methodology of synthetic chemistry, one element of these processes has not changed since its conception - the use of conductive heating to perform chemical reactions. However, with the advent of microwave accelerated synthesis, one of the important dimensions to modern chemistry opens up which could significantly change the way of chemical synthesis by offering a new energy source. Instead of spending hours or days synthesizing a compound, chemists could now perform the same reaction in a few minutes time. This method will eventually replace many hot plates and block heaters, allowing chemists to begin using microwave energy on a broad scale.

The conference will take place in the Chemical Institutes at the Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf.
