NGN-Workshop

To continue the first ngnlab.eu international NGN workshop held sucessfully in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2009 we are offering the 2nd ngnlab.eu international NGN Workshop in Leipzig.

Next Generation Networks (NGNs) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) based infrastructures getting a particular importance for Telecommunication Carriers (Telcos) and Telco manufactures too. The workshop focusses aspects like the increasing impact of the Web 2.0 world on the IMS and Telco infrastructure, the interconnection of NGN/IMS networks and converged services, the potential of Open Source based IMS/NGN components and further more.

Whilst proceeding the workshop experts in practise, research and academic groups will discuss topics related to service convergence, interconnection of ip multimedia networks and virtualization of services and entities in telecommunication networks.

The main focal point is on exchanging experience and knowledge, related in topics like NGN, IPTV, Rich Communication Services (RCS), Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) with Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Envolved Packet Core (EPC).

The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 9th HfTL Sciencedays 2010 dealing with the topic "Virtualization in the ICT".
Service and infrastructure virtualization related to telecommunication systems will be focussed on both events, the 2nd NGN Workshop and the 9th HfTL Sciencday. Papers presented on these arrangements will be published on CDROM.
Workshop presentations will be available for download here after that.

* Network convergence and evolution of NGNs
* Multimedia and converged services in NGNs
* NGN testbeds and interconnections
* Converged services IPTV, RCS, Internet
* Future of converged networks, trends in NGMN, LTE, IMS, FTTx
* Convergence of Web 2.0 with IMS based Telcos
* Development of NGN services in lab environment
* Virtual laboratories, testbed collaborations
* Real experiences and deployments of NGN
* Research and educational activities in field of NGN studies
* Future networks and future of NGN/NGMN
