An interdisciplinary international summer school for young scientists on organic photovoltaics will take place from 10-14 June 2012 in Oliva, Spain. It will run parallel to the International Conference on Simulation of Organic Electronics and Photovoltaics (SimOEP12) and provide interesting lectures from known experts in the field and offer a great opportunity to exchange and network.
The Summer School strives to give a thorough introduction to the multidisciplinary fields of Organic photovoltaics and is organized by the European research projects “Sunflower” and “X10D”.
The progress of the past and the challenges of the future in the field of organic photovoltaics will be a continuous element throughout the summer school. Topics such as materials and device architectures, processing techniques and first large-scale realizations are in the focus of the lectures. An overarching programme for all attendees will be provided. Participation for the summer school is free of charge. The registration is open now.

Information about the organizing projects:
SUNFLOWER is a collaborative research project of 17 partner institutions from science and industry. Its goal is the development of highly efficient, long-lasting, cheap and environmentally friendly printed organic photovoltaics.
X10D with its 17 partners aims to enable organic photovoltaics to enter the competitive thin-film photovoltaics market. It aims to achieve this by pooling the knowledge and expertise of the leading research institutes and start-up companies in Europe.
Both projects receive funding from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013).
