The theme of this year’s 4-day STATE Experience Science Festival is “Time”. What is time? How does it influence our lives? Over 60 international scientists and artists will present their interpretation of the festival theme in installations, films, performances, talks, workshops and panel discussions. The Festival language is English.
We invite you to attend the press talk with Dr. Christian Rauch and a short
walk through of the venue on Friday, 31.10.2014 at 9:30 am.

STATE Film Festival (in co-operation with Imagine Science Films, New York)
PLATOON Kunsthalle, Schönhauser Allee 9, 10119 Berlin
Tuesday and Wednesday are dedicated to film. Curated together with Imagine Science Films from New York we present an international selection of short films in four thematic blocks (“Entropy/Decay”, “Past to Future”, “Time, Space & Mind” and “This Modern Earth”), including several premiers. This includes the European premiere of the film “The Creeping Garden” in presence of the British filmmaker Tim Graham - a surreal view of a genus of peculiar organisms and the scientists and artists who have dedicated their lives to
it.

STATE Exhibitions / STATE Science Interactives / STATE Workshops
The main program of STATE Experience Science Festival takes place at Alte Münze, a 1500m2 abandoned former mint near Alexanderplatz, from Friday, 10:00am until Saturday late. The focus: interaction and reflection. Among our exhibiting artists we include the work of Serbian artist, Nenad Popov, whose Approach combines and contrasts artistic and scientific approaches. His work “Pulse, Flow” is an installation on the microscopic inviting onlookers to slow down. Visitors to our “Time Bureau” can find out their “Time character” based on current psychological research. Mindfulness meditation is explored in a workshop using EEG sensors.
