Abstract: Electrochemistry plays an important role in solving some of the today’s existing challenges in the domain of energy storage and conversion, and biomedical devices. With the depletion of fossil fuel and enhancement of environmental pollution, a paradigm shift has occurred towards “green technologies”. In the present talk, I would share my research and innovation in the areas of Li+-ion battery (LIB), and bioelectrochemical systems. In the domain of LIB, a long standing challenge is to synthesize electroactive materials at low-temperature which has minimum possible environmental foot print and lowest possible cycle life cost. I hereby will discuss my research results on synthesis of anatase TiO2 at room-temperature. The physic-electrochemical, in situ and ex situ, experiments suggest that the room-temperature synthesized anatase TiO2 shows exceptional resistant against particles coarsening with temperature, entailing a significant delay in the anatase to rutile phase transition, prolonging up to 1000°C in air. A noticeable alteration of the phase stability diagram in terms of lithium insertion is also experienced and will be discussed in details in this talk. Later part of the talk, I will also be involved in discussing research results on application of highly porous metal organic framework (MOF) in bioelectrochemical system such as biosensor, biocatalytic oxygen reduction and finally few research results on ongoing experiments on microbial fuel cell.
