On the road from Paris to Marrakech

The international community is scrambling to ratify the UN Paris climate agreement at an unprecedented pace. What are the prospects for ratifying the agreement before the next US president is being inaugurated? What are the most important elements that the Marrakech negotiations need to achieve so that the Paris agreement can effectively support achieving the ambitious global 2°C goal? And what can Germany, the US and China do to ensure a successful implementation of the Paris outcome?
