The Fraunhofer Seminar "Models of Lung Disease" is an annual meeting that brings together international experts from academia and industry to discuss recent advances and challenges in lung research, and to explore new approaches in translational research and drug development.
This year’s conference will take place on June 19 and 20, 2025, at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) in Hannover.
Key topics of this year’s program include:
• Human immune-competent models for lung diseases
• RNA-based technologies in research and drug development
• New anti-infective strategies
• Understanding and combating fibrosis
The program will also feature:
• A session on “SPRIND: A quantum leap for new antiviral agents – the winning teams”
• Career impulse talks
• Presentations by the poster award winners
An integral part of the seminar is the poster session, providing participants with the opportunity to present their own research and to engage in in-depth discussions with fellow researchers and industry representatives.
The Fraunhofer Seminar "Models of Lung Disease" was first held in 2002 under the title “Asthma in Animal Models.” Today, it has developed into a well-established international platform for interdisciplinary exchange in the field of lung research.
During the event, the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine ITEM will offer guided tours of various departments, providing insights into current preclinical and clinical research and development activities at the institute.
