This enables you to do research in advance and also to utilize the "lists of experts" published by idw in reference to major breaking news and/or important events. These lists contain the contact data of specialists with the relevant expertise who are willing to provide background information and/or analyses to journalists and/or to give interviews. In order to use these services of ours, journalists must be accredited by us first. This service is also free of charge. When you enter your personal registration - see above - you will find additional information regarding accreditation. Fast and successful: instruments for journalists at idw1. Individual and immediate: up-to-the-minute newsThe hundreds of press offices of the institutions associated with idw publish their up-to-date information and announcements in the idw system. At the same time, with no technical or other delay, this information from the scientific and scholarly world is published on our website. All news appears immediately, for example, under Newsticker and is sent by email to subscribers. Certain subject fields or areas of knowledge are important for you? No problem: make your choice! At News Subscription, you can put together your individual blend of choices, just as you need it for the editorial demands of the day or for researching a topic in the medium or longer term, like "medicine and health", for example, or "geography and related sciences" or "biotechnology". Thus you are always in the picture when it comes to research projects, the newest technical developments, symposia or seminars to take place in the near future, important publications, and major events in the university world. Another interesting service from us: Journalists can choose the function Embargoed News when they register for personal access. You will then receive press releases, announcements, etc. which are earmarked for publication at a future date. idw receives these from its associated institutions and publishes them in advance for the journalists who are registered for this service. You can thus more easily plan your subject matter, choose a topic and research it with time to spare. However, please be advised that if you register for such "early" announcements, you are then bound by the accepted code of press conduct, which does not permit an earlier publication or use of such news or information. Any journalist who does not adhere to this principle of fairness will be taken off the list of subscribers for such announcements. For accreditation enabling you to receive these in-advance announcements, you must have a valid press card. Please fill out the spaces for information on press card (number, association, validity) during the registration process, and send a scan of front and back of your press card to the email address service@idw-online.de. Your personal access will then be expanded to include a subscription to this special service. You have the following options with this service: either to receive all announcements, etc. as a full and complete text or in the form of short summaries, and whether you wish to have each and every one individually and immediately, or all of them once a day, or even once a week as an overview. You will then receive your news in the desired format and rhythm directly by email. Without charge and without advertising! Your personal data will not be passed on. idw is a non-profit organization and completely financed by the scientific and scholarly member institutions associated with it. The news archives are at your service for background information. All information published in our system since idw was established is at your disposal. With the help of a search engine, you can look for key words, place of publication and time of publication. 2. These lists contain the contact data of experts with knowledge and knowhow who are prepared and willing to provide journalists with background information and/or personal assessments of the situation or subject, as well as perhaps to give interviews. Due to the fact that these lists of experts contain personal information on our specialists, only the journalists who have received prior accreditation from us have access to them.
