Es werden die Prinzipien von so genanneten Verifikations-Algorithmen dargestellt. Das sind numerische Verfahren, die sichere Einschließungen für die Lösung linearer oder nichtlinearer Gleichungssysteme und anderer numerischer Grundaufgaben berechnen. Dabei wird gleichzeitig die Lösbarkeit und möglicherweise Eindeutigkeit der Lösung bewiesen. Die Matlab Toolbox INTLAB mit mehr als 3000 Nutzern in über 40 Ländern erlaubt eine einfache Implementierung und Handhabung der entsprechenden Algorithmen. Diese wird erläutert und demonstriert.
