Am GFZ Potsdam findet vom 20.-23.9.2004 die 5. Euro-Conference on Rock Physics and Geomechanics statt. Die EUROCONFERENCE bringt seit 1998 stets über 100 Wissenschaftler zusammen. Thema dieser internationalen Veranstaltung in Potsdam ist "Scaling Laws in Space and Time". Hier geht es u.a. um die Übertragung von Laborstudien und theoretischen Modellen aus den Bereichen Gesteinsphysik und Geotechnik in die praktische Anwendung.
