Bei der Auftaktveranstaltung informiert sich auch Bayerns Wissenschaftsminister Dr. Thomas Goppel über das Projekt. Er und Unipräsident Axel Haase eröffnen das Programm mit Grußworten. Den Festvortrag zum Thema "Wissensvermittlung in der Informationsgesellschaft" hält Professor Jens Reich, Molekularbiologe und Leiter der Bioinformatik am Max-Delbrück-Zentrum (Berlin).
Danach stellt Rafael Benz von der Robert-Bosch-Stiftung (Stuttgart) deren Förderprogramm "NaT-Working" vor. Damit will die Stiftung dazu beitragen, naturwissenschaftliche und technische Kenntnisse besser in der Gesellschaft zu verankern. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, fördert sie persönliche Kontakte zwischen Schülern, Lehrern und Forschern. Auch beim Würzburger Projekt "Bio-logisch!" tritt die Stiftung als Partner auf und stellt 78.000 Euro zur Ver-fügung.
