Die Ausdifferenzierung der mittelalterlichen Gesellschaft ging mit Konflikten einher, die teils spontaner Natur waren, teilweise jedoch auch gezielt herbeigeführt wurden. Angesichts aktueller Diskussionen um Integrations- und Differenzierungsprozesse soll auf der Tagung der Blick verstärkt auf Phänomene der Konfliktentstehung und -bewältigung gelenkt werden. Vertreter der Geschichtswissenschaft, Mittelalterarchäologie, Kunstgeschichte, Romanistik, Germanistik und Anglistik werden sich diesem Thema in Vorträgen und Diskussionen zuwenden.
