Für seine Arbeiten zur Erfindung der Blasenkamer erhielt Dr. Glaser im Jahr 1960 den Physik-Nobelpreis. Nach seiner Karriere als Teilchenphysiker hat sich Dr. Glaser wie viele seiner Physiker-Kollegen der Biologie zugewandt und in den 70er Jahren aufbauend auf seine Forschungsarbeiten eine der ersten Biotech-Companies gegründet. Seit ca. einem Jahrzehnt leitet er eine Forschungsgruppe im Bereich "computational neuroscience" (Bildverarbeitung im visuellen System) an der UC Berkeley.
