Unter dem Titel "Änderung von Mikrostruktur und Form fester Werkstoffe durch äußere Magnetfelder" wird die DFG ab Frühjahr 2006 ein neues Schwerpunktprogramm fördern, das sich über einen Zeitraum von sechs Jahren erstreckt. Hierzu findet am 19. und 20. September 2005 ein sogenanntes Kick-off-Meeting im IFW Dresden statt, um den thematischen Rahmen des Programms abzustecken und die Projektvorschläge zu diskutieren.
