Es handelt sich bei der ICACS 2006 um die 22. Tagung innerhalb der internationalen ICACS-Konferenzserie. Sie ist die größte Tagung zu den Grundlagen der Ion-Fest-körper-Wechselwirkung und behandelt die fundamenta-len Aspekte physikalischer und chemischer Phänomene, hervorgerufen durch die Wechselwirkung von Teilchen mit Materie. Diese Teilchen sind extrem langsame bis zu relativistisch schnellen Strahlen neutraler oder geladener Atome bis hin zu "exotischen" Elementarteilchen.
