Mit dieser Veranstaltung will sie Gelegenheit zur Information und zum Austausch geben sowie insbesondere ihre neue Fakultät für Mathematik und Informatik vorstellen. Ein wichtiger Programmpunkt des Festakts ab 16 Uhr im TGZ-Gebäude auf dem Campus an der Universitätsstraße sind die Ehrungen hervorragender Studierender, Promovendinnen und Promovenden.
Nach der Eröffnung und Begrüßung durch den Rektor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Helmut Hoyer und einem Grußwort des stellv. AStA-Vorsitzenden Matthias Pollak präsentiert Dekan Prof. Dr. Hans-Werner Six die neue Fakultät für Mathematik und Informatik. Prof. Dr. Lars Mönch spricht anschließend über "Modelle, Algorithmen und Systeme: Wirtschaftsinformatik im Spannungsfeld von Theorie und Praxis".
Nach der Überreichung der Förderpreise der Gesellschaft der Freunde der FernUniversität e.V. und der Sparkasse Hagen für herausragende Prüfungsleistungen und Promotionen an der FernUniversität klingt die musikalisch umrahmte Veranstaltung aus.
