3rd World Congress for Regenerative Medicine

Representatives from many countries will gather to present their latest findings in the fields of stem cells, umbilical cord cells, cartilage and bone repair, neuro-regeneration, immunology, skin and soft tissue repair as well as tissue engineering, scaffolds and imaging.

In 2007 the World Congress Regenerative Medicine (WCRM) is taking place for the 3rd time in Leipzig. The rapidly expanding field of regenerative medicine which encompasses subjects from tissue-engineering to nanomedicine requires a global forum to accommodate the growing interest. The positive responses in the wake of the first WCRM in 2003 and the second in 2005 have motivated us to bring the 3rd WCRM to Leipzig again.

Representatives from many countries will gather to present their latest findings in the fields of stem cells, umbilical cord cells, cartilage and bone repair, neuro-regeneration, immunology, skin and soft tissue repair as well as tissue engineering, scaffolds and imaging. Discussion and exchange of information on these topics will extend from academia to industry. To this end, numerous sponsors and exhibitors from both biotech and pharma will be present and make a valuable contribution to the congress by presenting new technology.

The infrastructure for Regenerative Medicine in Leipzig, which is key for the success of this event, is still growing, for example over the next 5 years the German granting agency (BMBF) is funding Leipzig researchers for a minimum of 11 Mio euro annually. Some of the institutes which are beneficiaries include Biotechnical and Biomedical Centre (BBZ) of the University of Leipzig, the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) as well as the new Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine (TRM).

Leipzig itself was famously called "little Paris" by the renowned poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe who lived here for many years, and no visit would be complete without a tour through the old city and its many outdoor cafes.

We would like to invite you warmly to participate in the 3rd World Congress on Regenerative Medicine. The list of topics below indicates the core issues of the congress, for which we invite you to submit your abstracts. We would be delighted to welcome you to Leipzig in October 2007.
