Am 15. Mai laden PhotonicNet und die TU Clausthal zum 3. InnovationsForum Photonik in die Kaiserpfalz Goslar ein. Anlass ist die Verleihung des Kaiser-Friedrich-Forschungspreises 2007. Die mit 15.000 Euro dotierte Auszeichnung honoriert herausragende und praxisorientierte Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich Optischer Technologien.
Im Mittelpunkt des diesjährigen Festprogramms stehen Fachvorträge zum aktuellen Ausschreibungsthema "Photonenquellen und Systeme". Geboten wird eine Zeitreise zu den Anfängen der modernen Photonenquellen sowie Einblicke in die aktuelle Forschung mit zukunftsweisenden Trends. Als Redner konnten bedeutende Unternehmerpersönlichkeiten wie der ehemalige Geschäftsführer der Trumpf Laser GmbH Paul Seiler und Dr. h.c. Werner Späth, unter anderem früherer Entwicklungsleiter von Siemens/Osram Opto Semiconductors,gewonnen werden. Den Festvortrag "Einstein und die moderne Optik" hält Professor Karsten Danzmann, amtierender Direktor des Max-Planck Instituts für Gravitationsphysik.
