Bridging basic and applied research and emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches, the issues addressed include fundamental aspects of light/matter interactions, important laser-based techniques and exciting applications in such vital fields as, e.g., astronomy and chemistry as well as life, environmental and material sciences. Also, we will present the significant results of the FIALAS project, such as, e.g., the use of new DPSS lasers and quantum dots in immuno diagnostics.
