Das Institut Mensch-Maschine Kommunikation unter der Leitung von Prof. Franz-Erich Wolter lädt zum Auftakt der Konferenz "Cyberworlds" zum Pressegespräch mit Fototermin ein. Am Mittwoch, 24. Oktober 2007 ab 12.15 Uhr werden Professor Wolter und seine Mitarbeiter die Entwicklung eines Virtual-Reality-Systems zur haptischen Interaktion mit virtuellen Textilien vorstellen. Im Anschluss an die Präsentation gibt es die Möglichkeit, das HAPTEX-System (Haptic sensing of virtual Textiles) selbst auszuprobieren. Veranstaltungsort ist das Leibnizhaus, Holzmarkt 4-6 in 30159 Hannover.
Die Konferenz "Cyberworlds" findet von Mittwoch, 24. Oktober bis Sonnabend, 27. Oktober 2007 in Hannover statt. Viele internationale Fachleute werden zu dem diesjährigen Themenschwerpunkt "Virtuelle Welten und Visualisierung" vortragen. Weitere Themen sind die Analyse von Formen sowie die geometrische Modellierung.
Die Konferenz steht unter der Schirmherrschaft des niedersächsischen Ministers für Wissenschaft und Kultur, Lutz Stratmann.
