Das späte Mittelalter gilt traditionell als krisenhafte Epoche. Nicht nur politische Verwerfungen, auch sittlich-moralischer Verfall wurden als Merkmale dieser Zeit benannt. Der Vortrag von Prof. Schuster untersucht am Beispiel der Geschichte der Prostitution den Beleg für dieses Geschichtsbild.
Im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe "Krise und Aufbruch in der Geschichte Europas" referieren Saarbrücker Professoren verschiedener Fachrichtungen jede Woche bis zum 20. Februar 2008 über wichtige Stationen in der politischen Entwicklung auf dem europäischen Kontinent von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart. Die Vortragsreihe ist eine Kooperation des Instituts für Europäische Geschichte an der Universität des Saarlandes und der VHS Stadtverband Saarbrücken. Die Vorträge finden jeweils mittwochs um 18.15 Uhr im Großen Hörsaal der VHS am Saarbrücker Schloss statt. Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen.
