Many sessions will be dedicated to subjects of great societal importance, such as climate change, the oceans, polar ice sheets, geohazards, sea level rise and astrobiology. Again, Vienna 2008 promises to be a true treasure trove of stories from the Earth and Planetary sciences.
The definitive press conference programme will be published in the week before Vienna 2007 on the conference website http://meetings.copernicus.org/egu2008/.
We invite all interested media representatives and public information officers to register in advance.
Child Care
During the conference, EGU provides its own professional Child Care facilities in the congress centre. Two separate rooms will be available close to the lecture room areas but not within the hectic and turmoil of the congress. The service will be provided from Monday, 13 April - Friday, 18 April 2008 split into two time blocks per day.
There will be a discovery lab where young (geo)scientists (age 4 - 12) can conduct experiments with the subjects Hydrological and Rock Cycles.
We hope to welcome you in Vienna.
Dick van der Wateren and Jacobijn Zeijlema (press officers)

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
