Bei der Veranstaltung geht es eine musikalisch-mythologische Analogie, die zwischen einem bislang nicht eingespielten Werk des französischen Komponisten Renè Leibowitz, der Toccata für Klavier, op. 62 von 1964, und einer Transformationsbeziehung aus dem ersten Band der Mythologica, dem Rohen und Gekochten, von Claude Lévi-Strauss besteht. Leibowitz hatte die Toccata komponiert, als er von dem mit ihm befreundeten Lévi-Strauss nach einem musikalischen Vorbild für eine mythische Transformationsbeziehung gefragt wurde, an deren Analyse Lévi-Strauss arbeitete. Das Stück wird von Prof. Dr. Arne Torger (Weimar) gespielt, und von PD Dr. Ferdinand Zehentreiter (Hanau) erläutert und in Verbindung zum mythologischen Konstruktionsproblem bei Lévi-Strauss gebracht. Prof. Dr. Michael Oppitz (Direktor des Völkerkundemuseums Zürich) wird einen Vortrag zum Transformationskonzept aus ethnologischer Perspektive halten.
