Auf dieser im Wechsel mit dem "International Workshop on Mantle Convection and Lithospheric Dynamics" stattfinden Veranstaltung werden in Vorträgen und auf Postern aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten und wissenschaftliche Fragestellungen diskutiert. Konkrete Themen sind beispielsweise: Die Rheologie und das mechanische Verhalten der Lithosphäre, Wechselwirkungenzwischen Lithosphäre und Asthenosphäre, die Dynamik von Subduktionszonen, Plumes, Riftzonen, etc., die Dynamik des Erdkerns und der Geodynamo, die Dynamik des Erdmantels und Effekte von Materialparametern, Anisotropie, Volatile und Phasenübergänge, geodynamische Interpretationen seismologischer Strukturen im Erdmantel, Schmelzen, die Migration von Schmelzen und Magmenaufstieg, Zwei-Phasenflüsse im Erdmantel und Erdkruste, die Dynamik glazial-isostatischen Ausgleichs, Numerische Methoden (multigrid, parallel-computing, visualization, data storage), Sonstige Studien mit einem geodynamischen Focus.
