Im Ruhrgebiet leben mehrere Millionen Menschen unterschiedlicher kultureller Herkunft zusammen. Das Projekt untersucht, inwieweit alltagspraktische Formen interkultureller Kommunikation entstanden sind. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt dabei auf den Schulen des Ruhrgebiets, in denen Interkulturalität praktisch gelebt wird. Leiter des von der DFG geförderten Projekts sind der Soziologe Ronald Kurt und der Philosoph Alfred Hirsch, beide Senior Fellows am KWI.
