Das Themenspektrum der Siegener Konferenz reicht dabei von empirischen Studien über Prak-tiken des End User Development und der Vorstellung von Benutzerschnittstellen und Architektu-ren von Softwaresystemen bis hin zu Entwicklungen für konkrete Geräte und Anwendungsfelder.
Renommierte Forscher aus ganz Europa, Asien, Südamerika und den USA referieren und disku-tieren dazu in Workshops und Vorträgen, darunter Brad Myers (Carnegie Mellon University, USA), Fabio Paternó (CNR ISTI, Italien), Gerhard Fischer (University of Colorado, USA), und Margaret Burnett (Oregon State University, USA) als führende Wissenschaftler auf dem Gebiet des End User Development.
Im Rahmen des Siegener Symposiums wird der neu entwickelte Computerarbeitsplatz itsme von Giorgio de Michelis (University of Milano Bicocca, Italien) erstmals in Deutschland präsentiert: Das neue Konzept unterstützt insbesondere 'Informationsarbeiter' bei der Bewältigung der wachsenden Informationsflut im heutigen Arbeitsalltag.
