Hegel's Answer to Nietzsche

Der slowenische Philosoph und Psychoanalytiker Slavoj Žižek gehört zu den bedeutendsten und innovativsten Denkern der Gegenwart. Er gilt als herausragender Vertreter des Poststrukturalismus, der vor allem bekannt wurde durch seine Weiterentwicklung der Psychoanalyse Jacques Lacans und ihre Übertragung auf die Bereiche der Populärkultur und der Gesellschaftskritik. Seine Arbeitsgebiete umfassen neben der Philosophie und der Psychoanalyse auch die Kultur-, Film-, und Medientheorie sowie die Politische Theorie.

Prof. Žižek hat etwa vierzig Bücher verfasst oder herausgegeben und hatte Gastprofessuren an zahlreichen renommierten Universitäten inne (Paris VIII, Buffalo, Minnesota, New Orleans, Princeton, Michigan und mehrfach in New York). Für sein Forschungsprojekt "Antinomien der postmodernen Vernunft" erhielt er den Kulturwissenschaftlichen Forschungspreis des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.
