Litauen, das kleien Land an der Ostsee, feiert 2009 die erste Erwähnung seines Namens vor 1000 Jahren. Anders als die heutige Republik war das heidnische Litauen ein Großreich, das sich bis zum Schwarzen Meer und bis vor die Tore Moskaus erstreckte. Der Vortrag gibt einen Überblick über diese immer noch wenig bekannte Geschichte.
