16th East West Zittau Fuzzy Colloquium - Summer School

According to the biannual execution of the Zittau
Wissenschaftliche Konferenz (WIKO) which is the
frame for the Zittau Fuzzy Colloquium we invite
you to the first summerschool at the IPM. Our aim
is to familiarize scientists from East and West with
basic problems and modern trends in the fuzzy research.
Particularly, young academics shall be enabled
to gain insight into fields that are beyond
their special topic of research. The following specialists
could be enlisted to give lectures on their
topic of interest.

Lectures

Prof. F. Klawonn
Univ. of Appl. Sc. Braunschweig/Wolfenbuettel,
Germany

Cluster Analysis (6-8 h)
- different approaches (hierarchical and relational
clustering, EM clustering, objective functionbased
clustering, fuzzy clustering, density based
clustering, special techniques)
- choice of a suitable distance measures
- cluster validity for determining the number of
clusters and for checking the consistency of
clustering results
- visualisation techniques for clustering results
- specific problems with high-dimensional data
- selected applications from industry and bioinformatics

Prof. O. Sokolov
National Aerospace Univ., Kharkiv, Ukraine

Multi-Agent Systems Course (6-8 h)
- intelligent agents
- cooperation and coordination of agents
- partial observability of agents
- mechanism design
- learning

Prof. W. Kaestner, Dipl.-Ing. A. Kratzsch
Univ. of Appl. Sc. Zittau/Goerlitz, IPM, Germany

Neural Networks (4 h)
- theory (architecture, learning, pruning, cascading)
- demands on data bases for modelling
- design of a compact and cascaded difference, pressure models (data bases, structure, training,
application, comparison, open problems)

Dr. M. Wagenknecht
Univ. of Appl. Sc. Zittau/Goerlitz, IPM, Germany

The World of Fuzzy Numbers (4 h)
- what are they for ?
- basic definitions and operations
- real analysis (spaces, functions, differentiation,
- optimization
- equation solving
- fuzzy random variables

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
