Prof. Dr. Udo Ernst Simonis ist emeritierter Professor für Umweltpolitik am Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB). Zuvor forschte und lehrte er an verschiedenen Unis weltweit und war Mitglied in zahlreichen Beratungsgremien der Vereinten Nationen und der Bundesregierung wie zum Beispiel dem Wissenschaftlichen Beirat der Bundesregierung Globale Umweltveränderungen (WBGU). Von 2004 bis 2008 war Prof. Simonis im Beirat des CESR an der Universität Kassel. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich ökologischer Strukturwandel von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft und internationale Umweltpolitik.
