2007 hat die DFG ein Programm zur Förderung Deutsch-Afrikanischer Kooperationsprojekte zur Erforschung vor allem vernachlässigter Infektionskrankheiten eingerichtet. Der Hauptausschuss der DFG hat jetzt die Förderung von insgesamt 25 Kooperationsprojekten für zunächst drei Jahre beschlossen. Die Podiumsdiskussion ist Teil einer Berliner Konferenz, in der deutsche und afrikanische Kooperationspartner zusammenkommen und ihre Projekte vorstellen.
