9th IPF Colloquium: Stimuli-Responsive Polymers

The Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden invites you to the 9th IPF Colloquium dedicated to the topic
Stimuli-Responsive Polymers
Polymers adapting to surrounding environments by changes in physical, chemical and biochemical characteristics play an increasingly important role in an array of applications, including drug delivery, diagnostics, tissue engineering, biosensors, and microfluidics. Starting from a series of invited presentations we intend to discuss recent progress in this emerging field, covering both theoretical/conceptual and experimental approaches.

Chairmen:
Jens-Uwe Sommer and Carsten Werner

The programme consists of invited lectures and discussions. In addition a lab tour is offered.
List of invited talks:
Martien Cohen Stuart, Wageningen University, Wageningen, The Netherlands:
Protein polymers which self-assemble upon suitable triggers
Kostas Daoulas, Universität Göttingen:
Using copolymers with stimuli-responsive architecture for manufacturing device-oriented nanostructures some insights from simulations
Holger Frauenrath, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland:
Materials and Nanowires from Oligopeptide-Polymer Conjugates
Wilhelm Huck, University of Cambridge, UK:
To stick or not stick, polymer brushes to control adhesion of water droplets and cells
Rainer Jordan, Technische Universität Dresden:
From the bottom-up: New developments in the preparation of functional polymer brushes
Thorsten Kreer, CNRS Strasbourg, France:
Response of polymer brushes to shear
Dirk Kuckling, Universität Paderborn, Germany:
Controlled synthesis of functional smart materials
Holger Merlitz, Xiamen University, Xiamen, China and IPF Dresden:
Simulation of stimuli responsive polymer brushes
Roland Netz, Technische Universität München, Garching:
Equilibrium and nonequilibriu polymer dynamics
Rein V Ulijn, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK:
Biocatalytic self-assembly
Yixin Zhang, Technische Universität Dresden, Innovation Centre for Molecular Bioengineering B CUBE:

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
