Welche Bedeutung haben Pflanzen wie Feige, Ölbaum, Granatapfel oder Dattelpalme in der Bibel? Welche kulturelle Stellung hatten diese Pflanzen in der damaligen Zeit? Was haben Pflanzen wie Myrte, Rizinus oder Papyrus mit der Bibel zu tun?
Jenseits des biblischen Hintergrundes steht jede Pflanze aber auch für sich, ist sie doch nicht nur deshalb interessant, weil sie Eingang in dieses weltweit wichtige Werk gefunden hat. Vielmehr werden sie gerade deshalb dort erwähnt, weil ihnen bereits damals eine besondere Rolle in der Kultur des Menschen bis in das Alltägliche zukam.
