Power Transition: New Hegemons, New Orders?

With reference to PRIF’s new research program “Just Peace Governance“, the annual conference, under the title “Power Transition: New Hegemons, New Orders?” will be dedicated to power shifts in politics. Power shifts often cause justice conflicts which in the past frequently led to violent conflicts. How can new, emergent powers be integrated peacefully in the existing international order? How can demands for more voice and just decision making in international organizations be satisfied? How can domestic power shifts be translated peacefully into institutional reforms?
