Die Festveranstaltung beginnt um 14 Uhr. Redner sind neben der Präsidentin der Philipps-Universität Frau Prof. Dr. Katharina Krause, die Profs. Drs. Gert Sommer und Ralf Zoll.
Um 17 Uhr findet die Verleihung des Peter-Becker-Preises 2010 statt. Geehrt werden Prof. Dr. Gavi Salomon von der Universität Haifa (Israel) für sein Lebenswerk als Friedenspädagoge sowie das Minds of Peace Experiment und Dr. Sapir Handelman (Wayne State University, Detroit, USA), schließlich das Day Care Center for Arab and Jewish Children at Risk in Jaffa (Israel).
Das Netzwerk "Peace counts", Träger des Peter Becker-Preises 2008, zeigt neue Exponate der Wanderausstellung „Peace counts – die Erfolge der Friedensmacher“.
