Die Abteilung Orthopädie und Bewegungssysteme arbeitet im Bereich der Prothesen- und Orthesenentwicklung eng mit dem
»U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs« in Minneapolis zusammen. Die gemeinsam geplante Veranstaltung bietet den Teilnehmern eine Diskussionsplattform für die Entwicklung neuer Design- und Fertigungsprozesse im Bereich der Medizintechnik. Es werden verschiedene Felder der Medizintechnik angesprochen. Ein Fokus liegt auf neuen Produkten und Verfahren für die Orthopädietechnik, im Speziellen elektrische Antriebe und Leichtbau für Prothesen- und Orthesensysteme.
