Der Bundestag hat Anfang des Jahres eine Enquete-Kommission "Wachstum, Wohlstand, Lebensqualität" eingesetzt und diskutiert auch über neue Wohlstandsmodelle der Zukunft. Ist dies eine Debatte lediglich für wohlhabende Nationen wie Deutschland? Wie wird diese Diskussion international geführt? Was bedeutet sie für schnell wachsende Entwicklungsländer? Und welche Schlüsse müssen wir für uns ziehen, wenn wir diese globale Perspektive einnehmen?
Jenseits einer Debatte von Konzepten, stellt sich darüber hinaus die Frage, wer Agenten eines möglichen Wandels sein könnten. Welche Rolle könnten hier internationale NGOs spielen?
Diese Fragen stehen im Mittelpunkt der von Timon Wehnert, Büro Berlin des Wuppertal Instituts, moderierten Diskussion.
Dr. Maja Göpel arbeitet und forscht seit 15 Jahren zu Nachhaltigkeit und Globalisierung. Seit 2008 leitet sie beim World Future Council das Programm Zukunftsgerechtigkeit. Prof. Dr. Uwe Schneidewind ist Präsident des Wuppertal Instituts und ist u.a. Mitglied des Club of Rome sowie der Enquete Kommission "Wachstum, Wohlstand, Lebensqualität".
Mit dieser Veranstaltung stellt das Berliner Büro des Wuppertal Instituts zugleich seinen neuen Standort im ProjektZentrum Berlin der Stiftung Mercator vor.
