Exile, the experience and critique of violence, trauma and shock, the relation of testimony and literature, memory and history, the now of recognisability, thinking in images, the figurativity of writing, photography….. there are many topics shared by Walter Benjamin’s writings and the literature of W. G. Sebald. The lectures may discuss one of these topics either in the work of Benjamin or in the way Sebald’s texts and images refer to it.

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
