Professor Geert Lernout lehrt vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Antwerpen. Er ist Mitglied der Academia Europaea und Vizepräsident der International James Joyce Foundation. Professor Lernout hat in Englisch Bücher über James Joyce und Friedrich Hölderlin veröffentlicht, in Niederländisch über Bachs Goldberg Variationen, zur Bibel und über Religion. In Zusammenarbeit mit Daniel Ferrer und Vincent Deane hat er zwölf Bände des “Buffalo Notebook for Finnegans Wake” herausgegeben. Seine jüngsten Bücher sind Help My Unbelief: James Joyce and Religion sowie Jezus in America: Een wereldmacht en haar religie. Zur Zeit beendet er eine Studie über Lord Byron und James Joyce als Leser von Genesis IV.
Veranstaltungsort ist der Hörsaal Alte Augenklinik, Rubenowstraße 2. Der Vortrag findet in englischer Sprache statt. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen!
