Die Leibniz-Gemeinschaft , das Berliner Institut für Gesundheitsforschung, die Stiftung Charité und die Deutschen Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina laden gemeinsam zum Vortrag von Professor Tasuku Honjo von der Universität Kyoto am 9. September in Berlin ein.
Thema: “Cancer immunotherapy by PD-1 blockade”
Tasuku Honjo wurde 2012 für seine herausragenden Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der molekularen Immunologie und Medizin mit dem renommierten Robert-Koch-Preis geehrt. Die japanische Regierung hat ihm 2012 den „Order of Culture“ verliehen. Zu seinen weiteren internationalen Auszeichnungen gehören der Tang Award im Jahr 2014 (Biopharmaceutical Science Award) sowie der William B. Coley Award. Derzeit ist er Professor am Lehrstuhl für Immunologie und Genommedizin und Chairman of the Board of Directors der Shizuoka Prefectural University Corporation.
Im Anschluss gibt es bei einem Empfang Gelegenheit zum Austausch.
