Prof. Dr. Louis W. Pauly hält aktuell den Lehrstuhl des Fachbereichs Politikwissenschaft an der University of Toronto und hatte seit 2002 den kanadischen Forschungslehrstuhl im Bereich Globalisierung und Governance inne. Als Direktor des Zentrums für Internationale Studien (1997-2011) half er, den Grundstein für die renommierte Munk School of Global Affairs zu legen. Er ist Absolvent der Cornell University, der London School of Economics, der New York University sowie der Fordham University und ist Fellow der Royal Society of Canada. Im vergangenen Jahr war er Inhaber der Karl W. Deutsch-Gastprofessur am Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB). Im Jahr 2015 wurde er mit dem Distinguished Scholar Preis der Sektion „Internationale Politische Ökonomie“ der International Studies Association (ISA) ausgezeichnet.
Apl. Prof. Dr. Jann Lay ist Leiter des GIGA Forschungsschwerpunkts Sozioökonomische Entwicklung in der Globalisierung und lehrt an der Universität Göttingen. Er hat Artikel in diversen international renommierten Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht und war als Berater für eine Reihe internationaler Organisationen und Entwicklungsagenturen tätig. Er forscht zu Fragen wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Arbeitsmärkte, Armut und Einkommensverteilung. Zu seinen derzeitigen Forschungsinteressen zählen die Verteilungswirkungen von Klimaschutzbemühungen, informelles Unternehmertum und die "Landraub"-Thematik
