Seit 2006 findet am Heinrich-Pette-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Experimentelle Virologie die jährliche „Heinrich-Pette-Lecture“ statt. Mit diesem inzwischen fest etablierten Ehrenvortrag werden herausragende Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler von hohen internationalem Rang für ihre Leistungen und Erfolge im Bereich der Virusforschung gewürdigt.
Die öffentliche Veranstaltung findet am 7. Juli um 15 Uhr im Ferdinand-Bergen-Auditorium des Heinrich-Pette-Instituts in Hamburg statt.
