Vom Blaustrumpf bis zum Chanel-Kostüm, vom Mantel des Propheten bis zur Schuluniform: 50 kurzweilige Essays nehmen in dem Band "Von Kopf bis Fuß. Bausteine zu einer Kulturgeschichte der Kleidung" (Kulturverlag Kadmos Berlin 2015) die unterschiedlichsten Kleidungsstücke, Stoffe, Utensilien und Praktiken rund ums Hautbedecken in den Blick und deuten deren Verwoben- und Verwickeltheit in Kultur und Geschichte. Im Kunstgewerbemuseum lesen und diskutieren die Herausgeber Christine Kutschbach und Falko Schmieder sowie die Autoren Mona Körte und Zaal Andronikashvili ihre Texte.
Im Anschluss wird es die Möglichkeit geben, die Modeausstellung des Museums sowie die Sonderausstellung "Beautiful Mind. Ein Schmuckstück für Cranach" anzusehen.
Eine Veranstaltung in Kooperation mit dem Kunstgewerbemuseum und dem Kulturverlag Kadmos Berlin.
