Der Kongress mit dem Titel „Lernen – Verstehen – Anwenden. Kompetenzerwerb in den MINT-Fächern“ umfasst Kurzvorträge und Workshops. Beispielsweise: Der Kampf um das Elixier der Weisheit (ein spielerischer Start in den Anfangsunterricht Chemie) oder Wenn Zellen die Kontrolle verlieren (eine Unterrichtsreihe zum neuen Kernlehrplan Biologie in der Sekundarstufe II). Ebenso geht es um die Verwendung von Handysensoren im Physikunterricht, den 3D-Druck oder um spielerische Konzepte ohne Computer mit Stift und Papier.
Zielgruppe sind Lehrkräfte, die Biologie, Chemie, Physik, Technik, Informatik und Mathematik unterrichten. Veranstaltet wird der Kongress von der Qualitäts- und UnterstützungsAgentur – Landesinstitut für Schule (QUA-LiS NRW) mit dem Interdisziplinären Zentrum für Bildungsforschung (IZfB) und dem Zentrum für Lehrerbildung (ZLB) der UDE.
