Forscherinnen und Forscher aus der Anglistik, Germanistik, Gräzistik, Romanistik und Latinistik werden gemeinsam die Strukturelemente epischer Texte von ihren Anfängen bis zum „Ende des epischen Erzählens“ im 19. Jahrhundert analysieren. Der Schwerpunkt der Tagung liegt dabei auf der epischen Dichtung des Mittelalters und der frühen Neuzeit.
Am 15.12.2016 ab 19.15 Uhr beginnt die Veranstaltung mit einem Abendvortrag von Johannes Haubold (Universität Durham) zum Thema: „Die Erzähltechnik der frühen griechischen und akkadischen Dichtung als Vorstufe des antiken Epos“ im Heinrich-Schliemann-Institut, Schwaansche Str. 3 (Hörsaal 3) und wird am 16.12.2016 ab 8.30 Uhr zum Thema: „Strukturen epischen Erzählens im antiken Epos“ und „Strukturelemente in der volkssprachlichen Epik“ im Internationalen Begegnungszentrum, (Seminarraum, Bergstraße 7A) fortgesetzt.
