Bienen gehören zu den wichtigsten Nutztieren. Ohne ihre Bestäubung stünde es schlecht um die Welternährung. Und sie können noch mehr, nämlich planen, zählen und träumen – obwohl ihr Gehirn kaum größer ist als ein Sandkorn. Wie machen sie das nur? Dazu forscht der Neurobiologe Randolf Menzel seit Jahrzehnten. Zusammen mit Matthias Eckoldt hat er sein gesammeltes Bienenwissen aufgeschrieben.
